Naija Ratels, Pacesetter Queens Relegated from NWFL

Naija Ratels FC and Pacesetter Queens have officially been relegated from the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership following their losses in matchday 15 of the ongoing season. Naija Ratels confirmed their relegation after a 2-0 defeat to Edo Queens in Benin City, with goals scored by Esther Inyang and Atum Doosuur.

This defeat leaves the Abuja-based side at the bottom of the table with only five points from 14 matches, making it mathematically impossible for them to overturn their deficit with just two fixtures remaining. This marks the end of Naija Ratels' five-season run in the top flight, having made their debut in the 2021/22 season.

Similarly, Pacesetter Queens faced relegation after losing 2-0 to Ekiti Queens in a South West derby played in Ado Ekiti. The Ibadan-based team struggled throughout the season and failed to gather enough points to secure survival, thus confirming their drop to the NWFL Championship for the next season, where they will aim to rebuild and fight for promotion back to the top tier.
