OAU Student Commits Suicide Over Exam Failure

A tragic incident occurred in Ejigbo, Osun State, where a student from Obafemi Awolowo University took his own life due to exam failure. Ajibola Ibitayo, a Part Two student in the Faculty of Dentistry, reportedly committed suicide after learning he would have to repeat the second year following the release of last semester's exam results.

The university's Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Olarewaju, confirmed the incident and revealed that the student had also repeated a year in the previous session. The university's appeal to parents and guardians to help students understand that failure is a temporary setback in the pursuit of success was emphasized.

The university expressed deep sadness over the loss and offered prayers for the student's family and the university community to find strength in this difficult time.
