OAU seeks police help over missing female student

Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) has sought the assistance of the Osun State Police Command in locating a female student, Dorcas Oseghale, who has been missing for four days. Oseghale, a Chemistry student, was last seen on August 6, 2025, when she left her residence to buy food in front of the Students Village along Ede Road.

Her roommate later discovered that her phone was unreachable. The University Security Unit intercepted reports of her disappearance on social media and began tracking conversations related to the matter.

The university cited limitations in human and material resources and emphasized the need for police assistance in unraveling the mystery surrounding Oseghale's disappearance. The university's spokesperson, Professor Adebayo Simeon Bamire, commended students for promptly reporting the incident and urged anyone with information on Oseghale's whereabouts to contact the nearest police station or the University Security Unit.

The university assured that it would continue to work closely.
