Prominent Nigerians Celebrate Archbishop Wale Oke's 70th Birthday

On Tuesday, prominent Nigerians gathered in Ibadan to celebrate the 70th birthday of Archbishop Francis Olubowale Wale Oke, the National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN). The event was attended by notable figures including former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Governors Seyi Makinde and Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and Bishop David Oyedepo, the Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church Worldwide.

The special thanksgiving service, themed “Engaging the Power of Thanksgiving for a Greater Tomorrow,” featured a sermon by Bishop Oyedepo, who encouraged Christians to adopt thanksgiving as a lifestyle, highlighting its importance for divine grace and strength. He warned against pride and emphasized the need to recognize divine grace in personal achievements.

Obasanjo described the event as a family occasion, while Governor Makinde acknowledged Archbishop Oke’s invaluable support since 2019. Governor Aiyedatiwa praised Oke’s strength at 70 as a testament to God’s grace.

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, represented by Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, commended Oke’s contributions to the community and Christian leadership.
