Obi Claims Plot Against 2027 Bid, Challenges Tinubu

Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, has alleged that there is a plot orchestrated by the federal government to block his participation in the 2027 presidential elections. He made these claims on Friday while delivering a lecture at the NextGen Mentorship Leadership Initiative at Madonna University in Okija.

Obi asserted that no political pressure would deter him from contesting, stating, "I know what to do to ensure I am on the ballot." He called for a public debate with President Bola Tinubu, emphasizing the need for transparency and open dialogue regarding the future of Nigeria. Obi urged eligible Nigerians to register and participate in the electoral process, highlighting the importance of voting and the need to overcome ethnic divisions.

He reacted to a recent ruling by a federal high court in Lokoja, Kogi State, which set aside a judgment directing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register his political party, describing it as a temporary setback that would not derail his political ambitions.
