Obidient Movement Finance Director Resigns Over Issues

Dr. Peter Agada announced his resignation as the finance director of the Obidient Movement during a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday.

He cited a lack of structural coordination within the movement as the reason for his departure. The Obidient Movement, which emerged as a youth-driven political force during the 2023 elections, aims to support Peter Obi's presidential bid.

Agada's resignation, communicated through a letter sent three days prior, highlights concerns about the movement's organizational depth and sustainability. He clarified that his decision was not made out of grudges and emphasized that the movement should not rely on individual sponsorship but rather on collective contributions.

Dr. Yunusa Tanko, the national coordinator of the Obidient Movement, expressed disappointment over Agada's exit but noted ongoing efforts to restructure the group.

The resignation raises questions about the movement's cohesion and its ability to navigate the political landscape ahead of the 2027 elections.
