Following Peter Obi's defection from the Labour Party to ADC, the movement emphasized its dedication to the democratic process within the party.

The Nation Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Yunusa Tanko, expressed confidence in Obi's chances of securing the ADC presidential ticket due to his growing support base. Tanko highlighted the importance of fair and democratic primaries, stating that Obi's popularity and democratic principles would drive the movement's continued support for ADC.
