Peter Obi's Office Demands Equal Scrutiny for Candidates

The Peter Obi Media Office (POMR), represented by spokesperson Idris Zekeri Jnr, criticized the perceived double standards in the scrutiny of presidential candidates ahead of the 2027 general election. The office claimed that Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Party (NDC), is subjected to intense examination, while other candidates are treated leniently.

Obi has consistently encouraged Nigerians to scrutinize his background and has requested the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) to release his academic records. This follows a lawsuit by former Labour Party National Publicity Secretary Abayomi Arabambi against UNN, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), and the West African Examination Council (WAEC) for not releasing Obi's credentials.

Obi has expressed no objection to the release of his records and has called for transparency and accountability from all candidates, arguing that all should be held to the same rigorous standards.
