DECAN Elects New Executives to Enhance National Security

The Defence Correspondents Association of Nigeria (DECAN) held elections resulting in the appointment of new executives, with Sundai Odita elected as President and Linu Alek as Vice President. The election process was described as peaceful and free of rancor.

Other elected officials include Umar Bologi as Secretary, Benjamin Samson as Treasurer, Kikelomo Oker as Financial Secretary, Ihotu Odoh as Welfare Officer, Agbor Jame as Provost, and Mathew Abi as Public Relations Officer. The new leadership committed to prioritizing member welfare and fostering collaboration among critical stakeholders in the defense and security sectors.

They aim to strengthen partnerships to enhance national security and create a stable environment conducive to economic growth and infrastructure development. The executives also recognized the sacrifices of Nigerian troops and reaffirmed DECAN's commitment to supporting initiatives that promote peace and security in the nation.
