Favour Ofili Tops Nigeria's 200m Rankings with 22.46s

Favour Ofili has reclaimed the top position in Nigeria's women's 200m rankings with a season-best performance of 22.46 seconds at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational. Despite facing a strong headwind of 2.0 m/s, she finished third in her heat, trailing behind her Adidas training partner McKenzie Long, who won the race with a time of 22.42 seconds, and Mariah Maxwell, who finished second with 22.44 seconds.

Ofili's time surpassed Kelli Ufodiama's previous leading Nigerian rank of 22.53 seconds. This performance underscores Ofili's dominance, as she has consistently been Nigeria's top 200m runner since 2021.

She is expected to represent Nigeria at the 2026 Commonwealth Games. Ofili holds the Nigerian national record of 21.96 seconds in the 200m.

Additionally, at the same meet in Gainesville, Olayinka Olajide recorded a wind-assisted time of 22.76 seconds, finishing ninth in the women's invitational 200m.
