Ogun State Governor Declares Public Holiday for 50th Anniversary Celebration

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has officially declared February 3, 2026, a public holiday in Ogun State to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the state's creation. The announcement was made by the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, on Monday.

Ogun State, popularly known as the "Gateway State," was created on February 3, 1976. The Golden Jubilee celebrations are expected to feature a series of commemorative activities aimed at reflecting on the past, celebrating present projects, and envisioning a prosperous future for the state.
