Ogun APC Names Senator Yayi as Consensus Candidate for 2027

The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially adopted Senator Yayi as its consensus gubernatorial candidate for the 2027 elections. This decision was made during a strategic caucus meeting held at the party's secretariat in Abeokuta.

The meeting was attended by notable figures, including three former governors: Aremo Olusegun Osoba, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, and Otunba Gbenga Daniel, as well as gubernatorial aspirants such as Senator Iyabo Obasanjo, Gboyega Isiaka, Tunde Lemo, and Isiaka Akinlade. Governor Abiodun announced the resolution of the meeting, expressing great pleasure on behalf of the party and congratulating Senator Adeola for being unanimously selected as the candidate.

He highlighted the importance of political maturity and magnanimity among party stakeholders, urging everyone to prepare for the upcoming elections. Governor Abiodun reminded party leaders that being a candidate does not guarantee victory and emphasized the need for thorough preparation to win the elections.
