Ogun PDP Calls for Police Probe into Campaign Train Attack

The Ogun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has formally requested the Nigeria Police Force to conduct a thorough investigation into an alleged attack on its campaign train in Ososa, Odogbolu Local Government Area. Dr Abayomi Tella, the State Chairman of the PDP, made this appeal on Thursday while addressing journalists in Abeokuta.

The incident occurred during the flag-off of the PDP’s Ogun East campaign on Wednesday, where Tella reported that the convoy was attacked by hoodlums who fired gunshots and threw stones, resulting in damaged vehicles and injuries to party members. Tella specifically called for an investigation into the type of firearm used in the attack, citing a vehicle belonging to Hon. Agbolade, the party’s candidate for the affected constituency, which had a gunshot mark.

He expressed concern over the arrest of some PDP members who were victims of the attack and urged the police to conduct an unbiased investigation. Tella emphasized the need for the police to act with conscience and maintain peaceful political engagement in Ogun State.
