PDP Accuses APC of Campaign Harassment in Ogun State

The Ogun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), under the leadership of State Chairman Dr Abayomi Tella, has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of using its incumbency to harass and intimidate opposition activities ahead of the 2027 general elections. Tella made these allegations on Thursday while addressing journalists in Abeokuta, detailing incidents of political harassment, including the disruption of the PDP's Ogun East Senatorial District campaign flag-off and an attack on their campaign train in Ososa, Odogbolu Local Government Area.

He called for a thorough investigation by the Nigeria Police Force, particularly regarding the reported use of firearms and vandalism. Tella described how the PDP faced resistance at Idowa, where they had secured a venue for their campaign on September 16, but were allegedly stopped by the traditional ruler shortly before the event.

The campaign train was later attacked in Ososa, resulting in injuries and damage to vehicles, with Tella stating that gunshots were fired at the convoy.
