Ogun State Governor Abiodun Secures N12bn for Education

The Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board praised Governor Dapo Abiodun for his commitment to funding basic education, highlighting the recent payment of over N12bn as counterpart funding for the 2022–2026 period. This payment represents five years of intervention funding and addresses obligations from 2014–2017, 2018–2019, and 2020–2021, cumulatively covering 13 years within seven years of Abiodun's administration.

Executive Chairman Joshua Olalekan Ifede described this achievement as unprecedented, emphasizing that the consistent release of funds would enhance school infrastructure and improve teaching and learning conditions. The board noted that this funding reflects Abiodun's view of education as a long-term investment and demonstrates his responsibility and foresight.

The funding is expected to benefit various stakeholders, including teachers and parents, and is seen as a landmark development in education financing in Ogun State, aimed at strengthening the education system for future growth.
