NNPC Warns of Energy Crisis Amid Dangote-PENGASSAN Dispute

The ongoing industrial dispute between the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) and Dangote Refinery has raised concerns about national energy security in Nigeria. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) warned of significant disruptions in oil, gas, and power supply due to the strike, leading to substantial losses in production.

Within the first 24 hours of the strike, the country experienced a notable decline in oil output, gas supply, and electricity generation. The situation poses a material threat to Nigeria's energy security, with potential for deeper impacts if the dispute persists.

NNPC's Chief Executive Officer, Bashir Bayo Ojulari, highlighted the severity of the situation and the need for urgent resolution.
