Okanlomo Tittle: Group Calls for Peace as Oyo Alaafin, Ooni of Ife Do Battle, “Let the Issue Die”

Yoruba Peace Advocates have called for calm as the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade, and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, engage in a battle over the conferment of the Okanlomo Oodua title to businessman Chief Dotun Sanusi. The group, known as "Let the Issue Die," urged the two monarchs to embrace peace for the overall interest of Yorubaland.

They emphasized that Chief Sanusi had already been conferred the title and urged the monarchs to uphold due process. The group backed Alaafin's stance and expressed concern over the recurring practice, stating that the issue should be resolved amicably.

The Alaafin of Oyo had previously reiterated his stance on the matter, clarifying that he has the right to confer titles in Yorubaland.
