Okowa, Dafinone Win APC Primaries in Delta State

In the recent All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primaries held in Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa emerged victorious for the Delta North senatorial district, while Ed Dafinone won the Delta Central senatorial district. Dafinone secured a total of 116,252 votes, defeating his opponent Ovie Omo-Agege, who received 3,643 votes.

The results were announced by Nusa Amagbor, the APC national assembly primary committee chairman for Delta State, who confirmed that Dafinone met the requirements for the highest number of valid votes cast. In Delta North, Okowa also achieved a decisive victory, polling 113,309 votes against Ned Nwoko's 2,612 votes and Mariam Ali's 40 votes.

The primaries were conducted using a direct primary option across the wards in the senatorial districts, and the process was described as peaceful and transparent. Both winners emphasized the need for unity within the party as they prepare for the upcoming elections in 2027.
