Okoye Named in Serie A Team of the Week After Juventus Match

Nigerian goalkeeper Okoye has been recognized in the Serie A Team of the Week following his impressive performance against Juventus FC during matchweek 29, despite Udinese Calcio losing the match 1-0. Okoye made seven important saves, effectively thwarting Juventus's attacks until the 38th minute when Kenan Yıldız assisted Jérémy Boga, who scored into an empty net.

Okoye's save percentage for the season stands at 69.4%, with five clean sheets in 21 games, having missed part of the campaign earlier. His current form has solidified his position as Udinese's first-choice goalkeeper.

He is expected to return to the Super Eagles squad for international friendlies against Jordan and Iran, as well as for the 2025 AFCON campaign in Morocco. Okoye's last appearance for the national team was during a friendly against Russia in June, following a penalty shootout loss to DR Congo in November for the 2026 World Cup African playoffs.

Udinese's next fixture is against Genoa CFC on Friday.
