Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim Declares Presidential Bid for 2027

Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim has officially declared his candidacy for the presidency in the 2027 elections, representing the Accord Party. His announcement was made through a statement issued by his media office on Tuesday.

Olawepo-Hashim aims to mobilize support across Nigeria, with efforts already underway to build a formidable political movement capable of offering Nigerians an alternative. He reacted to comments from a governor suggesting that the Accord Party would not field a presidential candidate, describing such remarks as overreach.

Olawepo-Hashim asserted that no individual has the authority to determine who will emerge as Nigeria's next president, emphasizing that political power ultimately belongs to the electorate. He cautioned against attempts to predetermine electoral outcomes, reaffirming his commitment to providing credible alternatives and advocating for economic revival and inclusive development.

Previously, he contested the presidency in 2019 under the platform of the People’s Trust and remains active in Nigeria's political discourse, focusing on economic reforms and coalition talks among opposition figures ahead of the 2027 elections.
