Olawepo-Hashim Announces Presidential Bid for 2027

Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim has officially declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential elections on the Accord Party platform. He made this announcement through a statement issued by his media office on Tuesday.

Olawepo-Hashim aims to mobilize support across Nigeria, stating that the Accord Party is already gathering millions of supporters nationwide. He reacted to comments from a governor suggesting that the Accord Party would not field a presidential candidate, describing such remarks as overreach.

He asserted that no individual or group can determine Nigeria's next president, emphasizing that political power ultimately belongs to the electorate. Olawepo-Hashim, who previously contested the presidency in 2019, is committed to providing a credible alternative for Nigerians and advocating for economic reforms and national unity.

The Accord Party, founded in 2006, has participated in several elections but remains a minor player in Nigeria's political landscape, which is dominated by the All Progressives Congress and the People's Democratic Party.
