YCee Responds to Olodo Uprising Controversy

Nigerian rapper YCee has responded to the Olodo Uprising controversy, stating that his comments were misinterpreted and clarifying that he does not hold a university degree. In a recent interview, he expressed concern over society's growing obsession with wealth, suggesting it has negatively impacted people's values and attitudes.

YCee rejected accusations of being classist or elitist, explaining that he attempted to gain admission to study Computer Science at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) but failed to meet the required cut-off mark. He shared his educational struggles, stating, “I hate what the pursuit of money has done to us as a society,” and noted that his lack of a university degree contradicts the perception that he looks down on others.

He maintained that his comments were intended to address societal values rather than to criticize individuals based on their educational background.
