EFCC and CCB Sign MoU to Combat Corruption in Nigeria

Ola Olukoyede, the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), highlighted the importance of collaboration among anti-corruption agencies to enhance the fight against corruption in Nigeria. This statement was made during the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), led by its chairman, Abdullahi Bello, on Wednesday in Abuja.

Olukoyede pointed out that poverty, hunger, malnutrition, and lack of infrastructure are major issues stemming from financial crime and corruption, which require a united front to address effectively. He expressed his delight at the MoU, which aims to operationalize collaboration between the two agencies, facilitating joint investigations, asset tracing, and capacity building.

Bello noted that the MoU marks a significant milestone in the CCB's fight against corruption and emphasizes the need for transparency and accountability in public life. The agreement aims to enhance the sharing of intelligence and resources between the EFCC and CCB to strengthen their efforts against economic and financial crimes.
