Charlotte Bankes Triumphs at Erzurum World Cup Event

Charlotte Bankes, a British Olympic gold medallist, claimed victory in the women's snowboard cross World Cup event held in Erzurum, Turkey, on Sunday. The 30-year-old athlete finished just ahead of second-place Lea Casta from Switzerland in a dramatic photo finish, with Noemi Wiedmer securing third place.

This win is Bankes' 27th World Cup victory, and she expressed satisfaction with her performance, stating that she found a solution to the tight final. Currently, Bankes stands at 313 points in the snowboard cross World Cup standings, while Casta leads with 324 points.

There are three races remaining, with the next event scheduled for Austria on March 15 and the final World Cup event taking place in Canada on March 28-29. Bankes is optimistic about the upcoming competitions and hopes to entertain viewers.
