Oman Sets OMR600 Salary Requirement for Family Visa

The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has established specific requirements for expatriates in Oman who wish to bring their families over under the Family Joining Visa. To qualify, an expatriate must earn a minimum monthly income of OMR600, which allows them to sponsor a spouse and children under 21.

Additionally, the sponsor must hold a senior-level position in accordance with Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) standards. Suitable accommodation must be rented in the sponsor's name or their employer's name.

The ROP's guidelines, updated in May 2026, indicate that applicants should confirm the salary requirement and other details directly with the ROP or their employer's human resources department, as discrepancies exist between official sources. Required documents typically include a valid Oman residence card, an attested marriage certificate, birth certificates for children, a salary certificate, and proof of accommodation.

The fee for the Joining Relatives Visa is listed as RO30, but applicants are advised to verify this with Omani authorities.
