Veteran Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde revealed in an interview with Yanga FM Nigeria how the 2005 Nollywood ban significantly altered her career trajectory. The ban affected eight of Nollywood's biggest stars at the time, including Genevieve Nnaji, Ramsey Nouah, Jim Iyke, Stella Damasus, Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), and Nkem Owoh.

Omotola emphasized that the ban pushed her to venture into music, release a debut album, and focus on business pursuits, particularly real estate investments. Despite facing professional setbacks due to the ban, she refused to remain idle and instead explored new opportunities.
