Ondo Police Arrest Notorious Eiye Fraternity Leader

The Ondo State Police Command, under the leadership of CP Adebowale Lawal, achieved a significant breakthrough in combating cult-related violence by arresting Ibaka Bella, a notorious leader of the Eiye fraternity. The arrest took place on December 12, 2025, following credible intelligence that indicated Bella's presence around NEPA Junction in Akur.

The operation, conducted by the command's Special Anti-Cultism Squad, was executed without incident. Preliminary investigations link Bella to the murder of Ojo Peter, which raised concerns within the community.

Further intelligence revealed Bella's involvement in cult-related activities, including an attack on a member of the Aiy confraternity along Fasaw Street in Owo, part of ongoing supremacy battles between rival cult groups. During the arrest, several items believed to be used for criminal activities were recovered.

Bella faces six charges, including murder, as efforts continue to identify and apprehend other members of the syndicate linked to him.
