Activist Criticizes Ondo State for Declaring Public Holiday Amid Development Concerns

Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has expressed concern over the lack of development in Ondo State on its 50th anniversary. Sowore criticized Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for declaring a public holiday instead of acknowledging the state's stagnation and poor governance.

Sowore emphasized that the state should focus on addressing critical issues rather than engaging in celebratory activities. He highlighted the absence of significant development milestones such as school refurbishments, bridge constructions, road completions, hospital openings, and security achievements.

Sowore also criticized Senior Special Assistant Yomi Oyekan for his response to the situation, stating that the government is not effectively addressing the state's challenges. The activist called for a shift in focus towards addressing the state's developmental needs rather than engaging in superficial celebrations.
