Ondo State Empowers 90 Youths in Poultry Farming Program

The Ondo State government has successfully trained 90 youths in modern poultry farming as part of the Adiy Irorun program, which aims to empower young people and women, thereby improving socio-economic conditions and reducing poverty. The initiative, announced by Rotimi Wemimo Akinsola, Chairman of the Ondo State Agribusiness Empowerment Centre, aligns with the agenda of Governor Mr.

Lucky Aiyedatiwa. The program operates across three senatorial districts and has established centers to ensure inclusivity.

The first cycle of the program, which lasted six weeks, provided necessary inputs such as chicks, feed, and technical support, with N8.5 million disbursed to 50 participants. A second cycle is set to disburse N15 million to 40 participants.

The program includes a structured selection process and practical training, with profits from the sale of poultry products shared among participants to ensure sustainability.
