Ondo State Government Condemns Campaign Vandalism

The Ondo State government has issued a strong condemnation against the vandalism of political campaign materials across the state. In a statement signed by Yomi Oyekan, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, the government warned that those involved in such acts will be identified and prosecuted.

The Ondo State Signage Advertising Agency described the vandalism as a criminal act that threatens democratic principles and constitutes a grave offense against the rule of law. The government, led by Governor Lucki Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, reiterated its commitment to ensuring a level playing field for all political aspirants, regardless of their political affiliations.

The statement emphasized that all candidates have the constitutional right to campaign freely without intimidation or harassment. Furthermore, the government urged political actors to refrain from violence and unlawful conduct, advocating for issue-based campaigns instead of resorting to criminal activities.

The Ondo State government made it clear that it will not tolerate political violence.
