O'Neill Uncertain About Iheanacho's Future at Celtic

Martin O'Neill, the interim head coach of Celtic, has stated that he cannot provide assurances about Kelechi Iheanacho's future with the club. Iheanacho, who joined Celtic last summer as a free agent after a stint at Sevilla, has faced challenges due to injuries and has lost his starting position.

Despite limited playing time, he has become a popular figure at Celtic, scoring crucial goals off the bench as the team won the league title and the Scottish Cup. Iheanacho expressed his desire to stay at Celtic beyond the current season, stating he loves the support and enjoys playing in Glasgow.

O'Neill mentioned that he had discussions with principal shareholder Dermot Desmond regarding his own role but emphasized that he cannot influence decisions about player contracts. Iheanacho signed a one-year deal with Celtic, which includes an option for a further year, but it remains unclear if the club will activate that extension.
