Air Peace, Nigeria's largest airline, has announced plans to commence international flight operations from Ogun's Gateway Airport to London this summer. CEO Allen Onyema disclosed this during an interview while inspecting the airport facilities alongside Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The airline will operate flights connecting the airport to both Gatwick and Heathrow airports, marking a significant milestone for Ogun State's aviation sector. Onyema praised the state government for delivering a world-class aviation facility, describing it as one of the best-equipped airports in Sub-Saharan Africa. The airport features a 4-kilometer runway capable of accommodating large aircraft, including the Airbus A380. Air Peace plans to deploy its Boeing 777 fleet on the London route. The project has received approval from the Ministry of Aviation and is seen as a national asset. Governor Abiodun also mentioned plans to expand the airport's ecosystem, including constructing an international conference center and a five-star hotel.
