Air Peace to Launch London Flights from Ogun Airport

Air Peace, Nigeria's largest airline, will commence international flight operations from Ogun's Gateway International Airport to London this summer, as disclosed by CEO Allen Onyema during an interview. This announcement followed a visit by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and Bola Ahmed Tinubu to inspect the airport facilities.

Onyema emphasized that Air Peace will operate flights connecting the airport to both Gatwick and Heathrow airports, marking a significant milestone for Ogun State's aviation sector. He praised the state government for delivering world-class aviation facilities, describing the airport as one of the best-equipped in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The airport features a 4-kilometer runway capable of accommodating large aircraft like the Airbus A380. Air Peace plans to deploy its Boeing 777 fleet on the London route.

The airline has received approval from the Ministry of Aviation to proceed with operations, which Onyema described as a national asset. Governor Abiodun also announced plans to expand the airport's ecosystem, including the construction of an international conference center and a five-star hotel.
