Ooni of Ife Celebrates Naming Ceremony for Twin Sons

The Ooni of Ife conducted a colorful naming ceremony for his twin sons, which included traditional rites and the attendance of royal household members. The ceremony featured offerings such as banana, beans, kola nut, bitter kola, sugarcane, gin, water, and cash, with prayers for the children’s blessings.

The first child received the name of the first prince, while the second prince was also named during the event. Traditional music groups performed, and guests congratulated the monarch and his family.

The celebration continued inside the palace, where food and drinks were served. The Ooni recently announced the birth of the twins, born to Olori Mariam, marking a significant moment four years after their marriage in 2022.

Olori Mariam is from Kogi State and has a professional background in the oil and gas industry. The Ooni expressed gratitude to Olodumare for the safe delivery and the health of the newborns, emphasizing the importance of public prayers and goodwill for the young princes.
