Senator Bamidele Celebrates 63rd Birthday with Legacy

Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, the Senate Majority Leader of the 10th National Assembly, turned 63 on July 29. His political journey began as a student leader, where he was arrested during pro-democracy movements.

Bamidele has consistently remained within the same political family, transitioning from AD to APC without ideological shifts. He survived an assassination attempt on June 1, 2018, which left him with bullets in his abdomen but chose not to seek retribution.

Since 2023, he has directed the passage or amendment of over 108 laws, including the Student Loan Act and Tax Reform Bills, showcasing his legislative skills. His longstanding relationship with President Bola Tinubu dates back to 1992, reflecting loyalty and principle.

Bamidele's constituency achievements include the construction of over 50 roads, 12 mini-stadiums, and the establishment of healthcare facilities. He holds Nigerian and New York Bar certifications and was honored as a Life Bencher in 2025, along with receiving the national honor of Commander of the Order of the Niger.
