Fani-Kayode Accuses Opposition of Spreading Fake News

Femi Fani-Kayode, a former minister, accused opposition figures of deploying fake news to destabilize the government and undermine the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as the 2027 general elections approach. In a statement made on Tuesday, he alleged that the opposition's strategy aims to create tension within the ruling party and weaken its electoral prospects.

Fani-Kayode urged APC members to remain united and develop a clear strategy to counter the spread of misinformation. He also dismissed media reports claiming ethnic and religious slurs against the German government ambassador, emphasizing the need for the party to work together to dispel doubts about their ability to win.

He expressed confidence in the APC's chances in the upcoming elections, despite the challenges posed by misinformation and political tension. Fani-Kayode called for greater mobilization within the party, particularly among the youth, to prepare for the electoral battle ahead.
