Osimhen Injury Raises Concerns for Nigeria's Coach Chelle

Victor Osimhen, playing for Galatasaray, was forced off the pitch with a suspected muscle injury in the 33rd minute during a 3-2 Super Lig victory against Istanbul Basaksehir on Friday. Osimhen had scored his sixth goal of the season before his exit, which raises concerns for Nigeria's coach Eric Chelle, especially with the Super Eagles set to host Madagascar on September 25 and face Guinea-Bissau on September 29 in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Kelechi Iheanacho, currently with Bursaspor, has been in excellent form, scoring a brace in a 4-0 win over Istanbulspor, bringing his tally to six goals and two assists in five matches this season. Moses Usor of LASK is also in contention, having scored three goals and provided four assists in eight matches.

With Osimhen's fitness in doubt, Chelle must decide whether to include either Iheanacho or Usor in his squad for the upcoming qualifiers.
