Osimhen Reflects on Early Super Eagles Snub and Support

Victor Osimhen recounted a challenging experience from his early days with the Super Eagles, specifically in 2017, when a senior teammate turned him away from a hotel room during his first national team call-up. During a livestream with comedian Carter Ef, Osimhen revealed that Kelechi Iheanacho intervened to assist him.

Iheanacho showed respect by offering to help carry Osimhen's boots and reportedly welcomed him by asking for his room number. However, Osimhen was stopped at the door of Iheanacho's room by a teammate who refused him entry, despite the explanation of an invitation.

Iheanacho reacted angrily upon hearing what had happened and confronted the teammate involved in the incident, although Osimhen chose not to disclose the identity of the player. Currently, Osimhen is recovering from a broken arm sustained while playing for Galatasaray during a UEFA Champions League match against Liverpool FC.
