Osun PDP Governorship Race Faces Uncertainty as Adeleke May Withdraw, State Chairman Reveals

The Osun State chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended its governorship primary elections scheduled for December 2, 2025, citing a worsening leadership crisis at the national and state levels. State Chairman Sundai Bisi disclosed during a press briefing in Osogbo that internal turmoil within the party hierarchy has made it impossible to proceed with the statutory processes required for the primaries.

Bisi clarified that the governor needs to fulfill certain requirements to participate in the primaries, but the escalating crisis has crippled the party's ability to conduct necessary congresses. He further revealed that State Governor Adeleke, an aspirant in the race, may withdraw as the crisis persists, although efforts are ongoing to resolve the impasse.
