Osun APC Chairmen Sue FG, Seek Tenure Extension Amid Local Government Crisis

The Osun State APC chairmen have taken legal action against the Federal Government, seeking to extend their tenure until 2028. This move comes amidst a local government crisis in Osun State, where the APC executive was reinstated after being removed by Governor Ademola Adeleke following a court ruling nullifying their election.

Despite the reinstatement, PDP members have sworn in their council executives, leading to a power struggle. The situation escalated as NULGE members embarked on a strike due to frozen federal allocations to the local councils.

The lawsuit filed at the Federal High Court in Osogbo seeks to resolve the tenure extension issue.
