Osun APC launches 10,000-strong canvassing unit for Tinubu's 2027 bid

Political leaders in Osun State have launched a grassroots mobilization effort for President Bola Tinubu's 2027 re-election campaign, with the All Progressives Congress deploying 10,000 door-to-door canvassers across the state's 30 local government areas. The initiative was formally inaugurated on Saturday in Osogbo at the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, bringing together Governor Ademola Adeleke, Marine and Blue Economy Minister Adegboyega Oyetola, and business figure Government Ekpemupolo, commonly known as Tompolo.

The campaign structure combines personnel and material resources. Ekpemupolo donated 30 vehicles to support the canvassing effort, while the APC and allied parties pledged organizational backing.

Osun APC Chairman Tajudeen Lawal announced the canvassing team as part of the party's strategy to reach voters at household level across the state. The event also included attendance from APC National Secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru and representatives from the Accord Party.

The coordinated effort carries an ambitious numerical target. Campaign leaders announced a goal of securing 1.5 million votes for Tinubu in Osun State during the 2027 general election.

This objective was disclosed during the formal inauguration of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement's state and local government structures, where additional campaign materials were also distributed to participants. The mobilization reflects a cross-party alignment on the 2027 presidential election in Osun.

While Adeleke leads the state under the Peoples Democratic Party banner, he joined APC figures and Tompolo, a prominent political mobilizer, in supporting Tinubu's presidential ambitions. This unity across party lines marks a notable feature of the campaign push in a state that has historically been competitive in presidential elections.
