Osun APC Criticizes PDP Lawmakers Over LG Allocations

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticized lawmakers from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) concerning disputes over local government allocations. In a statement issued by Kola Olabisi, the APC's Director of Media, the party accused PDP lawmakers of misrepresenting the status of local government administration in Osun.

This reaction followed a press conference held in Osogbo on Saturday, where Lere Oyewumi, a PDP lawmaker, urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to direct the payment of federal allocations to council chairmen and councillors. The APC appealed to disregard existing court rulings concerning council leadership, asserting that individuals occupying these positions are legally recognized.

They referenced a Supreme Court judgment delivered in December 2025, clarifying the legal status of council leadership. The APC urged Governor Ademola Adeleke to collaborate with APC council officials within the framework of the law to ensure effective governance.
