Osun Assembly Warns Governor Oyetola, APC Members Over Alleged Diversion of Local Government Funds

The Osun State House of Assembly has raised alarm over the alleged diversion of billions of naira from the state's local government funds by Governor Gboyega Oyetola and APC members. The Assembly accuses them of making illegal payments totaling billions, including to APC chairmen, vice chairmen, councilors, and traditional rulers.

The Assembly condemns these actions, emphasizing that the funds were meant for public salaries, healthcare, education, and community development. They warn of legal consequences for those involved and caution the United Bank for Africa (UBA) against facilitating the alleged illegal transactions.

The Assembly asserts that Governor Oyetola, who is allegedly linked to APC leader Bola Tinubu, has no legal authority to control local government funds. They stress that any unauthorized disbursement of public funds is a financial crime that will be fully recovered and treated as such.
