Davido Clarifies Attack on Osun Governor's Convoy Incident

Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, known as Davido, addressed reports regarding an alleged attack on the convoy of Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke. The incident reportedly involved suspected hoodlums engaging security personnel in a gun battle at the palace of the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji, on Wednesday.

This altercation occurred shortly after Governor Adeleke received his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and visited the monarch's palace to celebrate his electoral victory. In a post on his verified X handle, Davido dismissed the claims linking the fight to the governor's convoy, clarifying that the incident took place outside the palace and had no connection to the governor or his entourage.

He emphasized the support for the governor, stating, “Lies! It was a fight outside the palace that had nothing to do with us.

The people love his excellency.” This clarification followed increased activity around the palace after the governor's visit.
