Osun State Launches Free Medical Outreach for Residents

The Osun State Government, under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke, has initiated a free medical outreach aimed at addressing eye and dental diseases. This outreach, which runs from October 12 to 14, 2026, is being held at Platinum Embassy Specialist Hospital, located opposite the New Ede City Stadium on Owode-Ede Road.
Dr Adekunle Akindele, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Health, represented Governor Adeleke during the flag-off event. The initiative is part of the government's broader commitment to enhancing healthcare accessibility, having renovated over 200 primary healthcare centres.
The outreach will provide free ophthalmological services, including cataract and pterygium surgeries, as well as dental services such as tooth extraction and fillings. Additionally, reusable sanitary pads will be distributed to female inmates and girls in selected secondary schools to promote menstrual hygiene.
Akindele praised the collaboration between Rotary Clubs and the Osun Health Insurance Agency, highlighting the importance of partnerships in addressing healthcare challenges.
