Otti Supports Initiative to Boost Insurance Access in Abia

Abia State Governor Alex Otti expressed support for a plan to expand insurance access in the state during a meeting with a delegation from the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers, led by President Ekeoma Ezeib. Otti acknowledged the critical role of insurance in safeguarding individuals and businesses against unforeseen risks.

He praised the insurance industry for its decision to engage directly with the public, emphasizing the importance of regulatory requirements that foster trust in the sector. Otti highlighted the involvement of Abians in trade and manufacturing, noting that insurance serves as a safety net for businesses facing unexpected challenges.

He welcomed the launch of the insurance penetration initiative in Abia State and pledged to encourage wider participation among residents. Ezeib announced plans for a formal launch of the initiative in 2026, while Olusegun Ayo Omosehin from the National Insurance Commission commended Otti's developmental strides, describing Abia as a strategic hub in Nigeria's industrial landscape.
