The Nigerian Tulip International College (NTIC) and the National Mathematics Centre (NMC) organized the 23rd Annual National Mathematics Challenge, where over 10,000 students from primary and junior secondary schools across Nigeria participated. The competition, held simultaneously in centers across 31 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), aims to promote effective teaching and learning of mathematics at basic education levels.

Dr. Fevzullah Bilgin, the Managing Director of NTIC, described the competition as one of the largest and most prestigious mathematics competitions in the country.

The competition, which began in 2003, focuses on building students' capacity in the subject and nurturing mathematical talent nationwide. Outstanding students who qualify for the second round will receive full tuition scholarships to study at NTIC, while successful math teachers and schools will also receive rewards and educational materials.
