Rotary International Invests $30 Billion to Eradicate Polio

Rotary International has reported that it has invested over $30 billion in the global effort to eradicate polio since 1985. John Hewko, the Chief Executive Officer of Rotary International, disclosed this information during an event in Benin.

He stated that the organization aims to eradicate polio by 2029, highlighting the ongoing challenges such as religious and cultural issues, misinformation, and insecurity, particularly in regions like Pakistan and Afghanistan. Hewko noted that misinformation is a significant problem affecting polio eradication efforts globally.

Rotary International continues to raise funds and advocate for vaccination until the disease is completely eradicated. The organization has a commitment to vaccinate every child and is working to address security challenges in various countries.

Additionally, Rotary Governor Anthony Woghiren announced the election of Adeyinka Babalola as the next global president of Rotary International.
