Oxfam Engages North East Nigeria Stakeholders for Budget Input

Oxfam, in collaboration with Crudan and YWYEF, organized a two-day engagement in North East Nigeria, focusing on the importance of community participation in budget planning. Stakeholders from Adamawa and Borno states were encouraged to incorporate local needs into government budgets and monitor spending.

Tijjani Ahmed Hamza, Oxfam's Country Director in Nigeria, represented by project coordinator Samuel Lashon, emphasized the need for continuous engagement with the government to ensure that community priorities are reflected in budgets. Ana Vinembres, Head of Programme for Social and Economic Participation of Returnees, Internally Displaced Persons, and Host Communities in North East Nigeria, represented by Goni Modu, urged local councils to enhance revenue generation to fund meaningful projects.
