Oyagbola Advocates 35% Female Leadership Representation

Amina Oyagbola, the founder of Women in Successful Careers (WISCAR), advocated for a minimum of 35% female representation in leadership positions within both public and private sectors during the graduation ceremony for Stream 16 mentees in Lagos. She emphasized the necessity of workplace reforms that support working women to promote gender inclusion and accelerate national development.

Oyagbola announced WISCAR's collaboration with other women-focused organizations, including WILAN, WIMBIZ, and the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, to form a women in leadership coalition aimed at advocating for policies that ensure increased female representation and labor reforms addressing the care economy. She urged the graduating mentees to embrace leadership defined by influence and service rather than titles, and to focus on the legacy they leave behind.

Oyagbola encouraged them to mentor and sponsor other women as they advance in their careers, reinforcing the importance of sharing knowledge and building movements for transformation.
